Owen and I had our 35/36 week appointment yesterday. He is looking great! His heart rate was 146, he is still sideways, but with his head facing down, so that is good. We gained a half pound and he is projected to weigh between 6 & 7 pounds at his debut. As you probably guessed he's currently about the size of a honeydew melon & to be honest, now I really want to run to Whole Foods and pick one up for a snack!
Friday was my last day of work. It was bittersweet. I had and still have mixed feelings about it. The exciting news is that when I got home from an emotional last day of work there was a car parked in my driveway and two fabulous women were inside. TalanaMama and Auntie Sherrie came to surprise me for our 4D sonogram! The sonogram was Saturday and it was amazing! We saw Owen yawn, play with his cord and face... oh my, his little face is so handsome, I can't wait to see him face to face. After the sonogram we all went to Fairfax Corner for lunch and shopping, then back home to play and takeout Keelie, then to DSW for shoes, after that we went to the movies and saw OZ, which was really a lot better then I had expected and finally we ended the day at Panera. It was such a perfect day that saying goodbye on Sunday was really really really hard. I am overwhelmingly blessed to have such an amazing, loving and supportive family.
Matt gets back from Israel on Saturday. I can not wait to pick him up. Two weeks didn't seem like so long until he was gone and I realized how much he helps me (up off the couch, taking on/off shoes, etc.) I am proud of myself for being able to do still do these things on my own, but I also really have missed him. Two weeks is a long time, especially when there is such limited contact.
Bonus! Brittani (the photographer I assisted for a while) was finally able to send me the photos from the shoot she did of Matt and I after we found out we were pregnant. I am in complete love with these photos. I wish I didn't have to wait so long for them, but better late than never! Below is one of my favorites. They're all really great, but this one is way too stinkin' cute.
So far we are still feeling really great. I've been having some discomfort/pressure, but the Dr. suggests that it is probably just Owen making his way downward. In only the matter of 4 weeks or so my little prince will make is grand entrance! I can't believe it... so many mixed emotions.
Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers.
Love,
Kristen, Matt and Owen
